John Carley (R) (District 29)

What will be your top issue to tackle if elected?

Property Tax Relief

Amber Hulse (R) (District 30)

Why are you running for office? I am a budding election lawyer, devoted daughter of a disabled Vietnam veteran, and a hometown constitutional conservative.I grew up in Hot Springs on my parents’ ranch. After graduating from the University of South Dakota, I had the honor of serving alongside Governor KristiNoem and President Donald Trump. In the crucible of America’s capital, I attended law school at Georgetown Law, refined my skills, and fortified my convictions through an unwavering commitment to Christ, the Constitution, and traditional American values. Now, I have come home and stepped up to represent our community, to preserve and protect our way of life for future generations of South Dakotans as a fresh voice for District 30.

What will be your top issue to tackle if elected? Property Taxes and Housing. People should not be taxed out of their homes and ranches. All other policy issues do not matter much if people cannot keep a roof over their heads. District 30 is one of the areas in South Dakota where this issue is most prevalent. We need a voice at the table that can build legislative consensus to take action and get results on this matter, fast.

Julie Frye-Mueller (R) (District 30)

Why are you running for office?

I am seeking reelection to the Senate because I have done a good job speaking out to both protect and watch out for the citizens of our state. I care deeply about what is happening here in South Dakota and actively work with “grassroots” groups to inform and activate the people to promote good and limited government. I want the citizens to know what the legislature is doing and how it affects them.

What will be your top issue to tackle if elected?

I will continue to promote my “transaction receipt fee” to the citizens and let them know there is a way to replace the revenue we take in from property taxes. We need to take the power away from government to control our property and lives. If funding is the priority there should be no problem supporting this to protect us property taxpayers. I have three more forums scheduled for May so far.
